Patiala police arrest Lawrence Bishnoi gang shooter, seize two pistols

Police in Patiala, India, arrested Simardeep Singh, an alleged shooter for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and seized two foreign-made Zigana pistols and eight cartridges. He was wanted for two firing incidents linked to extortion demands. The 21-year-old suspect, also tied to the Kali Balongi gang, allegedly attacked homes of Jubilee Group officials in Mohali after demands for Rs 9 crore. Police say he and an accomplice conducted surveillance before the September shootings. Simardeep is the nephew of jailed gang leader Kali Balongi. Police registered a new Arms Act case and will seek his remand to trace the weapons' supply chain and arrest his alleged accomplice, Akashdeep Singh.
