Passenger detained after assaulting fellow travelers on flight

A man was detained on a Delta Air Lines flight on Monday after he reportedly behaved aggressively towards fellow passengers. He was traveling from Atlanta to Los Angeles when he began to hit and bite others on the plane. When the flight landed, emergency services, including the Los Angeles Fire Department and airport police, quickly arrived. They took the man to a hospital for a medical evaluation, while paramedics provided care for the passenger who was bitten. Delta Air Lines is cooperating with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation. The airline emphasized its “zero tolerance” policy for such behavior. So far this year, there have been 300 similar incidents on flights. Last year, there were over 2,100 reports of disturbances. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that it takes action against passengers who assault or threaten airline crew members. It can impose fines of up to $37,000 for each violation.
