Parents in Goa protest April school year start

Around 100 parents protested outside the Directorate of Education in Panaji against the state's decision to start the 2025-26 academic year in April for certain classes. They expressed concerns about their children's health and planned vacations. Some parents have approached the high court regarding the issue. They worry that low attendance may occur if families choose not to send their children to school in April. The parents criticized the government's short notice for the schedule change, claiming they had only five days to respond to the amendments made to the Goa Education Rules.
