Parents demand audit of Rawalpindi board's 63% 9th grade failure rate

A 63 percent failure rate in Rawalpindi Board's 9th grade annual exams has sparked criticism from parents and school associations, who are demanding an audit of the results and marking standards. The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education reported a 37.56 percent overall success rate, with 45,724 of 121,739 candidates passing. The All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association noted this is 7.61 percent lower than the provincial average, placing the board last among nine Punjab boards. The associations are urging the board chairman to conduct a comprehensive audit and review marking standards. They also highlighted a performance gap, with private institutions achieving a 60.41 percent success rate compared to 30.82 percent for government schools in Rawalpindi.
