Paramount and Nielsen reach new agreement to restore audience ratings access
Nielsen and Paramount Global have reached a new agreement, restoring access to Nielsen's audience ratings for CBS, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. This deal ends a months-long dispute where Paramount used alternative audience data. Previously, Paramount criticized Nielsen's high fees and faced challenges in analyzing ratings for its shows. During this period, Paramount relied on competitor VideoAmp for audience measurement. The new deal comes as Paramount prepares for a significant acquisition by Skydance Media and aims to cut costs. Nielsen has also improved its technology to better measure audience engagement across various platforms.
