The Corporation of the City of Panaji has begun pre-monsoon cleaning in 11 of its 30 wards. About 60 workers are focusing on cleaning stormwater drains and gutters to reduce flooding risks during the rainy season. The CCP is coordinating with the water resources department and the Captain of Ports to desilt areas like the Mandovi banks and Rua de Ourem creek. This aims to prevent flooding in central Panaji and nearby areas. The corporation is also addressing concerns about high tide affecting the storm drains.
