Palisades High tennis coach Bud Kling loses home in fire but community remains strong
Bud Kling, a renowned tennis coach at Palisades High School, lost his home in the recent Palisades fire. He has coached both boys' and girls' teams to 52 City titles over his career. Kling, 77, returned to his home to find it engulfed in flames. He managed to save only his dog and a few personal items before evacuating. His extensive collection of Olympic memorabilia, including 19 torches, was also destroyed. Despite the loss, Kling noted that Palisades High remained mostly intact. He expressed sadness for his friends who also lost their homes and reflected on the tight-knit nature of the community.
