Palestinian developer raises funds for game on 1948 Nakba story

A Palestinian game developer, Rasheed Abueideh, is crowdfunding a new game titled "Dreams on a Pillow," which focuses on the 1948 Nakba, when many Palestinians were displaced. This follows his earlier success with the game "Liyla & The Shadows of War." Abueideh, who faced challenges in the gaming industry due to political sensitivities, shifted to a nut roastery business that has since become unviable due to safety concerns. He has now returned to game development to share a historical Palestinian folk tale through his new project. The game has raised $49,000 of its $194,000 goal with 49 days remaining. It aims to include historical documentation and imagery, and is expected to launch in 2026.
