Pakistani woman flees abuse, crosses into India
A 30-year-old Pakistani woman named Amaira has crossed the border into India seeking refuge. She was caught by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Rajasthan's Ganganagar district while trying to enter the country. Amaira claims to be from Balochistan, a conflict-prone area in Pakistan. She said she fled to escape domestic abuse from her husband, who has businesses in both Balochistan and Muscat. Before attempting to cross the border, she stayed with her parents in Karachi. Authorities are investigating her case closely. Amaira's mobile phone revealed that she had searched about the status of women in India, believing it to be better than in Pakistan. This influenced her decision to escape. According to police, she used Google Maps to find her way to the border. She was captured near the Vijeta border post and is now in the custody of local police. Security agencies are assessing her situation, looking for any signs of espionage or other issues, but so far, no evidence has been found. They may also conduct a mental health evaluation to ensure her well-being.
