Pakistan and China strengthen ties and commit to CPEC 2.0 development
Pakistan and China have committed to strengthening their strategic partnership, focusing on the development of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0. This includes enhancing cooperation in information technology, agriculture, and clean energy. The reaffirmation occurred during the fourth round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Beijing, led by Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and China's Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong. Both sides emphasized the importance of CPEC for regional connectivity and prosperity. CPEC connects Gwadar Port in Pakistan to China's Xinjiang province and is a key part of China's Belt and Road Initiative. The meeting highlighted the significance of new corridors under CPEC 2.0 and the need for coordination in multilateral forums.
