PAGASA tracks tropical cyclone near Philippines as weather impacts expected
PAGASA is tracking a tropical cyclone located 900 kilometers southwest of southwestern Luzon. The tropical depression has maximum winds of 55 km/h and is moving east northeast at 15 km/h. If it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it will be named Romina. In the next 24 hours, several regions, including CALABARZON and the Bicol Region, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. Other areas, such as Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan, will also see rain due to the cyclone's trough. Metro Manila and parts of Luzon will have cloudy skies with rain, while the eastern section of Southern Luzon may face strong winds and rough coastal waters. The rest of Mindanao will experience lighter winds and calmer waters.
