Pacific leaders urge China to give 24-hour notice before missile tests

Australian Energy Minister Chris Bowen said unanimity was not necessary for the majority's strong view. Beijing accused Palau of stirring "hype" over the test and objected to Taiwan's participation, claiming the island was unqualified. Five Pacific leaders sent low-ranking ministers instead, and the next summit will be hosted by New Zealand in 2027.
