Overnight Firefight in Florina's Krystallopigi Continues

Firefighting forces battled flames all night in Krystallopigi, Florina, where a fire has been burning in a hard-to-reach forest area since yesterday afternoon. The situation remains difficult. Firefighting forces were reinforced during the night, with 42 firefighters, two ground teams from the 8th EMODE, and 13 vehicles operating at the scene. The Region of Western Macedonia and the Municipality of Florina are assisting with water trucks and machinery. A firefighting helicopter was deployed at first light. Two 112 alerts were sent, including a pre-dawn message advising residents near Krystallopigi to evacuate toward Prespes.
