Outside GOP group invests $600,000 to support Republican candidates in Ohio Supreme Court races

A nonprofit group based in Washington, D.C., has announced a $600,000 ad campaign to support three Republican candidates for the Ohio Supreme Court. This funding comes just six days before Election Day. The Republican State Leadership Committee's Judicial Fairness Initiative will promote Judge Megan Shanahan, Judge Dan Hawkins, and Justice Joe Deters. They are competing against Democratic candidates Justice Michael Donnelly, Judge Lisa Forbes, and Justice Melody Stewart. Currently, Republicans hold a 4-3 majority on the court. A Republican sweep could expand their majority to 6-1, while a Democratic sweep would create the first Democratic majority in decades.
