Osaka tests giant CO2 vacuums to purify air
francetvinfo.fr (French) —
Giant CO2 air purifiers are being tested in Osaka, Japan, as part of an experiment to clean urban air. The project aims to reduce carbon emissions. Engineers are showcasing the technology at the Osaka World Expo. The system, developed by the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth, uses large cylinders to suck in air, filter out CO2, and store it. The captured CO2 is used to produce methane for the expo site. While the technology shows promise, the cost and scalability of the system remain significant challenges for widespread implementation.
