asahi.com (Japanese)

Three women in their 20s were arrested in Osaka on August 6 for allegedly soliciting prostitution on streets in the Kita district, police said. One suspect, a 24-year-old Kobe entertainment worker, said a host she liked demanded she spend 600,000 yen at his club in July. Another said she started seven years ago to support hosts; a third cited idol concerts and cosmetic surgery. The Taiyūji-chō area has long struggled with street soliciting. In December 2024, police painted roughly 100 meters of road yellow; arrests in the jurisdiction fell from 18 in 2024 to 11 in 2025.
