Oregon volcano shows imminent eruption signs

An underwater volcano off Oregon's coast, Axial Seamount, is showing signs of an imminent eruption. Scientists have observed the volcano inflating and a significant increase in seismic activity, with over 2,000 earthquakes recorded in a single day in June. Axial Seamount is the most active submarine volcano in the northeast Pacific and has erupted three times since 1998, with eruptions typically being deep and not posing a threat to coastal areas.
