Oracle buys Nvidia chips for OpenAI's US data center

Oracle will invest approximately $40 billion in Nvidia chips to supply computing power for OpenAI's new U.S. data center, according to a Financial Times report. The cloud provider will purchase roughly 400,000 of Nvidia's GB200 chips, leasing the processing power to OpenAI. This deal supports OpenAI's expansion and the U.S. Stargate project, aimed at strengthening American AI capabilities. The data center is part of a larger initiative to bolster the U.S.'s position in the AI sector amid increasing global competition. Oracle, Nvidia, and OpenAI have not yet commented on the report.
