OpenAI releases national security principles for AI development and partnerships

OpenAI released national security principles outlining its approach to government partnerships and military applications of its AI technologies. The principles, developed with national security expert David Chris, cover current and future partnerships, including with the Department of Defense, and prohibit mass domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons. This announcement follows a dispute between the U.S. government and Anthropic over AI safety restrictions for military use.
