OpenAI launches ChatGPT Search to enhance web queries and user experience
OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Search, allowing users to search the web directly within ChatGPT. This new feature enables more conversational queries, providing timely information with citations. It aims to simplify the search process compared to traditional search engines. In tests, ChatGPT outperformed Google in handling conversational queries. For example, it quickly identified Selena Gomez in a specific context and created a detailed vacation itinerary for Ireland, complete with links. Google provided less tailored responses in these cases. ChatGPT Search is available on the ChatGPT website and apps for Plus and Team users, with broader access planned for free users in the coming months. While it shows strengths in everyday queries, Google still excels in areas like shopping and maps.
