Open Heart Kitchen supports homeless transition with meal program and shelter in Tri-Valley

Open Heart Kitchen in Livermore has helped many people transition from homelessness to stable living. In 2023, the nonprofit served over 418,000 meals and aims to provide 450,000 meals in 2024. It also offers shelter and support services. LuAnn Briggs, who once lived in her car, now resides in a small apartment through Open Heart Kitchen's programs. She describes her new living situation as a miracle, highlighting the importance of hope and community support in overcoming challenges. This holiday season, Open Heart Kitchen seeks to raise $10,000 through the Share the Spirit campaign. The funds will support its Open Heart Refuge program, providing shelter for 20 individuals for 40 nights.
