Only one of four Bengaluru suburban rail corridors has completed land acquisition

Only one of four Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project corridors has completed land acquisition, over four years after approval, delaying the ₹15,767-crore project. Corridor-2 (Mallige) is fully acquired with construction underway; Corridor-4 (Kanaka) has acquired only 7.8 of 57 acres. Expenditure so far is ₹2,659 crore, with delays blamed on private land and state land transfer issues. Corridors 1 and 3 have approved alignments with acquisition and utility shifting ongoing. No revised deadlines were given, though K-RIDE and Railways are coordinating to resolve problems.
