One in ten young people faced homelessness last year

A Mission Australia survey reveals that 10% of young people faced homelessness in the past year, amid a worsening housing crisis. The 2023 Youth Survey, involving 19,501 respondents, shows persistent homelessness rates since 2017. The charity calls for 15,000 dedicated social housing tenancies and highlights that 40,000 young people access homelessness services annually, with less than 50% able to secure transitional accommodation.
