One dead and 20 rescued after tourist boat capsizes off Goa beach

A tourist boat capsized off Calangute beach in Goa on December 25, resulting in one death and 20 rescues. The incident occurred around 1:30 PM, with a 54-year-old man confirmed dead. Most passengers were wearing life jackets. Drishti Marine personnel quickly responded, calling for backup as the boat overturned about 60 meters from shore. Eighteen lifesavers assisted in bringing the passengers to safety. Four individuals, including two children, were hospitalized after receiving first aid. This incident follows a recent maritime accident near Mumbai, where a Navy craft collided with a passenger ferry, killing 15 people.
