Old KMT factions struggle against rising pro-China elements

The Ma Ying-jeou Foundation is suing former executives for alleged embezzlement, revealing internal conflict. DPP legislator Lin Chun-hsien stated that without Ma, "old KMT members" loyal to the ROC will lose influence. He believes this internal dispute is a final attempt by older factions to resist the "pro-China new stars" rising within the KMT. Lin suggested the KMT's current predicament was foreshadowed by Lien Chan's early engagement with China, leading to a potential "takeover" by pro-China elements. He noted that while he sympathizes with the old guard's struggle, their current situation is self-inflicted, and Ma's relevance to Taiwan is diminishing.
