Ohio BMV increases car registration and title fees in 2026

Ohio vehicle owners will face higher registration and title fees starting January 1, 2026, due to a state budget increase. Annual vehicle registration will rise by $5 to $16 for personal vehicles and $35 for commercial ones. Title fees will increase from $15 to $18, with a potential additional $5 increase for county clerks. These changes are part of a two-year state budget. Deputy registrar fees already increased in September 2025.
