OFI Crete returns to European cups after five years, hosting CSKA Sofia in a Europa League playoff first leg

OFI Crete returns to European competition after five years, hosting CSKA Sofia in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie on Thursday. The Greek club has already secured a European league phase spot regardless of the outcome. OFI enters the match following a Super Cup victory over AEK, which boosted confidence after their Greek Cup triumph. CSKA Sofia has more competitive rhythm, having advanced through three qualifying rounds and started their domestic season with four wins and one draw. The match takes place at a full Pancretian Stadium, with OFI coach Christos Kontis reporting no major injury concerns. The winner advances to the Europa League league phase, while the loser drops to the Conference League.
