Odisha government shortlists 95 research ideas for funding under new program

The Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) has shortlisted 95 research ideas from 106 submissions for funding under the Mukhyamantri Research and Innovation Programme (MRIP). Faculty members will present their projects to over 60 experts from January 15 to 24. The state government will provide Rs 10 lakh for science projects and Rs 7 lakh for social science projects. A total of 60 projects will be selected for funding, which lasts two years. MRIP, launched in August 2023, replaces the previous funding program. Researchers must be under 50 and address specific research gaps relevant to state or national development.
