Obsessed stalker sent threatening letters; he's jailed
Ben Strangeways was sentenced to over nine years in prison for a disturbing campaign of threatening letters targeting at least ten victims, including a Merseyside mother of four. The letters detailed graphic threats of sexual assault and murder. Strangeways, obsessed with serial killers, sent the letters nationwide, including one to the victim's home on January 9th. He was arrested with an "attack kit" and a knife, and his home contained further evidence, including a balaclava and books about serial killers. The court heard the letters caused severe distress, with the victim stating she lost trust in people and feared for her children's safety. Strangeways received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and restraining orders.
