NYPD sergeant suspended for accessing classified information
A sergeant from the New York Police Department is under investigation for possibly accessing classified information for foreign agents. Sources say this inquiry is being conducted by federal officials. Sgt. Zhu Jiang is currently suspended without pay. He was working on a task force investigating health-care fraud in Lower Manhattan. Jiang joined the NYPD in January 2013 and has held various roles. He previously worked in the vice squad and then in Brooklyn South Narcotics. In October, he began working with a federal task force at the Jacob K. Javits Federal building. As of now, he has not been charged with any crime. Jiang earned over $169,000 last year and has received numerous commendations for his police work. The NYPD did not comment on the details of his suspension.
