Nvidia makes cheaper AI chip for China

Nvidia will launch a new, cheaper AI chip for China, priced between $6,500 and $8,000, to circumvent U.S. export restrictions. Mass production is slated to begin as early as June. The new chip, based on the RTX Pro 6000D, will use conventional memory and simpler manufacturing, unlike the restricted H20 model. This follows U.S. bans impacting Nvidia's sales in China, a crucial market. This move comes after the U.S. effectively banned the H20, forcing Nvidia to adapt. The company faces competition from Huawei in China, and its market share has declined due to export curbs.
