Nvidia completes $700 million acquisition of Run:ai after EU approval

Nvidia has completed its $700 million acquisition of Israeli AI firm Run:ai after receiving unconditional approval from the European Commission. This approval came after a review raised concerns about competition in the graphics processing unit market. The European Commission initially warned that the deal could strengthen Nvidia's market dominance, as the company already holds about 80% of the AI graphics processor market. However, it ultimately determined that the acquisition would not harm competition. Run:ai plans to make its software open-source, which will allow broader access beyond Nvidia's GPUs. This move aims to enhance its availability across the entire AI ecosystem.
