Nun finds joy in cloistered life at Manila monastery as World Day for Consecrated Life is celebrated

A nun at the Carmel Monastery in Quezon City describes her cloistered life as a "paradise," emphasizing the spiritual fulfillment it brings. Celebrated on February 2, the World Day for Consecrated Life saw over 10,000 individuals in the Philippines renew their commitments. The nun, who has been a Carmelite for 50 years, reflects on her journey and the challenges of maintaining faith. The monastery will mark its 100th anniversary next year. Currently, there are 14 nuns, with ages ranging from 38 to 90. The nun hopes more young people will respond to God's call and seek the peace found in a contemplative life.
