NSDC opens foreign language center in Pune to boost global workforce skills

The National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) is establishing a foreign language center in Pune to meet the demand for skilled workers in Germany, Japan, and Australia. This initiative aims to enhance language proficiency among Indian workers. Recently, NSDC sent 100 certified nurses to Germany and plans to send another 1,000. The center will offer targeted language training courses in collaboration with industry partners to ensure practical skills for job readiness. At the Vishwa Marathi Sammelan, NSDC CEO Ved Mani Mishra introduced a cellphone app in Marathi and the Skill India Digital Hub portal. The platform will connect youth with over 50,000 industry partners and 550,000 apprenticeship opportunities.
