Notepad introduces AI summarization feature for users

Windows Notepad is introducing a new AI feature that summarizes text. This feature is part of Notepad version 11.2501.29.0, currently being tested by Windows Insiders. Users can highlight text and select "Summarize" to generate a summary. The summary length can be adjusted, and users can disable the feature in app settings. This update also includes a Recent Files option in the File menu, allowing quicker access to recently used documents. These enhancements build on last year's Rewrite feature, which allows users to modify text for different lengths and tones. Both features aim to improve text editing in Notepad.
