North Portland mini mart's liquor license suspended after arrest
The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) has suspended the liquor license of Stop N Go Mini Mart in North Portland. This decision follows the arrest of the store's owner, Donald Sharma, earlier this month. Sharma faces eight felony charges related to drug trafficking. The OLCC issued an emergency order stating that the mini mart must stop selling alcohol. They believe that continuing operations poses a serious danger to public health and safety. The commission noted that the business had five violations in 2024 and 2025. Police were alerted to suspicious activities at the mini mart after receiving tips in late 2023 or early 2024. An investigation began about a year ago and gained urgency due to its location near schools and a medical center. During the investigation, police seized significant amounts of illegal drugs, including cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl pills. They also collected firearms and $6,600 in cash from the store. Sharma was arrested and taken to jail, but he posted bail and has been released. Stop N Go has the right to challenge the OLCC's decision at a hearing scheduled for April 21.
