North Korean troops in Russian uniforms move toward Ukraine, US confirms

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced that North Korean troops, wearing Russian uniforms, are heading toward Ukraine. This follows reports of North Korea deploying around 11,000 soldiers to support Russia amid its ongoing conflict with Ukraine. The Pentagon confirmed that approximately 10,000 North Korean troops are training in Russia, with some already moving closer to Ukraine. South Korean officials estimate that over 3,000 of these troops are advancing toward combat zones in western Russia. Austin expressed concern about the potential deployment of North Korean troops in combat roles. South Korean Defense Minister Kim noted that while this deployment may not lead to war on the Korean Peninsula, it could heighten security tensions.
