North Korea pledges unwavering support for Russia in Ukraine conflict
North Korea has pledged its support for Russia in its invasion of Ukraine. Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui stated that the North Korean regime will stand by Russia until victory, during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. Reports indicate that around 8,000 North Korean soldiers may be deployed to the Kursk region, currently occupied by Ukrainian forces. Choe and Lavrov did not confirm these reports but expressed confidence in Russia's military success. U.S. and South Korean officials have raised concerns about the potential involvement of North Korean troops, warning they could become legitimate military targets. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cautioned that insufficient international response could lead to an increase in North Korean military presence near Ukraine.
