North Andover Middle School students named a new state snowplow "The Blizzard Buster." This name was selected from 1,200 entries in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation's annual contest for elementary and middle school students. The snowplow visited the school, where students unveiled the name in front of local officials and MassDOT Secretary Monica Tibbits-Nutt. The plow will be stationed in Lawrence. Students engaged in discussions about civics and democracy during the naming process. They also had the opportunity to explore the plow and ask MassDOT workers about their jobs.
