NHAI, PWD to fix Bajghera underpass waterlogging with new drains, barriers

Agencies finalized a joint plan to end waterlogging at Bajghera underpass, with NHAI building table-top barriers and PWD adding drains linked to the city's master drain. The decision followed Tuesday's heavy rain that flooded and closed the underpass. GMDA will inspect sump wells and pumping infrastructure; PWD drains will connect to Leg-1 master drain for quicker stormwater discharge. A joint inspection occurred Wednesday; a super sucker machine is clearing silt from 300 metres of Leg-1 drain to prevent overflow during heavy rainfall.
