A new survey finds 53.7% of Ukrainians speak exclusively Ukrainian at home, confirming Ukrainian as the dominant household language in 2026. According to the SOCIS survey, 12.6% of respondents speak only Russian at home, 32.9% use both Ukrainian and Russian, and 0.9% use other languages. The polling highlights a persistent bilingual minority. The survey was conducted from late July through August 2026, interviewing 2,000 respondents across Ukraine, excluding temporarily occupied territories, using a quota stratified sample.
