New South Wales cop faces domestic violence charges over abusive texts to ex-girlfriend

A senior constable in New South Wales, Jordan Leigh Weston, 29, faces multiple domestic violence charges after sending abusive texts to his former girlfriend. Messages included threats like "I hope you crash and die" and "I hope you get raped." Weston, who has been suspended without pay, allegedly sent around 60 offensive messages in one day while on duty. Court documents also detail incidents of physical assault and stalking, including following the woman in his car and searching her phone without permission. The woman reported the abuse to police in January 2024 after being approached by officers. Weston is charged with common assault, stalking, and harassment, with a court hearing scheduled for February 2025.
