New shuttle bus service for Everton Stadium event
Everton Stadium will host up to 25,000 fans this weekend for an under-21 friendly match. This event is part of the preparations for the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, which has a capacity of 52,888 and will fully open in August. To accommodate the large crowd, a new bus service has been launched. Transport officials worked with fan groups and Everton FC to arrange additional transport options, including changes to regional rail, bus, and ferry services. Stagecoach, the bus service provider, will operate two shuttle bus routes. The new 939 service will run from Bootle bus station to the stadium, with stops at Washington Parade and Derby Road. The 919 shuttle will pick up from Commutation Row in Liverpool city center before heading to Great Howard Street. Both services will start two hours before the match and will help transport fans back after the game. Simon Tramalloni from Stagecoach expressed excitement about supporting Everton fans with these new shuttle options. He emphasized the commitment to providing a smooth matchday experience. After feedback from the first test event last month, officials addressed concerns about transport capacity. Merseyrail will also adjust its Sunday timetable to manage the increased number of passengers, with services running every 15 minutes on certain lines. Fans can find more travel information on the Everton website, which hosts a dedicated travel hub.
