New section of Nestaweya River Trail opens in Winnipeg
A new section of the Nestaweya River Trail has opened in Winnipeg, adding about three kilometers for outdoor activities. This stretch connects The Forks Port Rink to the Hugo Docks along the Assiniboine River. The skating trail, which opened on New Year’s Eve, has already been open longer than it was last winter. The Forks plans to begin work on the Red River section next week to extend the trail to the Norwood Bridge. Users are advised to stay on the marked trail, as ice quality is not tested outside these areas. Information on skating and ice conditions is available on The Forks website.
