New report sheds light on fatal Phoenix warehouse roof collapse
A report from Arizona's worker safety agency details the roof collapse at a Phoenix warehouse on July 24, which resulted in the death of 22-year-old Oswaldo Montoya Torres. He was inside a temperature-controlled room when strong winds caused the structure to fail. Eight employees were present during the storm, with others sheltering in an office. They called 911 when Torres was unaccounted for. His body was found after a three-day search, and the medical examiner ruled his death accidental. The warehouse, operated by Freeport Logistics Inc., was inspected by the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health, which found no safety violations. The family of Torres is currently investigating the incident.
