New 'Painkiller' game launches fall 2025

3D Realms and Anshar Studios have announced a new game in the 'Painkiller' series. This modern version will be released in fall 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The new game was revealed at the recent Future Games Show. Fans of the original 'Painkiller,' released in 2004, can expect intense and gruesome gameplay. The trailer showcases the dark and eerie world that players will navigate. In this game, players are trapped in Purgatory and must fight against a fallen angel named Azazel. He plans to unleash demons on Earth. Players take on the role of one of four characters—Ink, Void, Sol, or Roch—each with unique abilities. Players will engage in fast-paced combat against various enemies and the demon offspring known as the Nephilim. They can use new and classic weapons from the series. There will be options for solo play or online co-op with up to three players. Players can also enhance their abilities using Tarot cards.
