New MediaTek chipset extends Bluetooth range to 10km

MediaTek has unveiled the Dimensity 9400 Plus, a new phone chipset. This chipset boasts significantly improved Bluetooth connectivity, extending the range up to 10 kilometers, a substantial increase from the original Dimensity 9400's 1.5km. This extended range is primarily for phone-to-phone Bluetooth connections, with line-of-sight necessary for the maximum distance. The chipset also enhances CPU and AI performance, and supports faster Wi-Fi 7, as well as a 12-core GPU for improved visuals. While the 10km range may not directly impact typical Bluetooth device usage, the enhanced chipset represents a leap forward. The Dimensity 9400 Plus offers considerable performance improvements, potentially rivaling other high-end smartphone processors.
