New map reveals 1,000 unsolved murder cases across the UK
A new interactive map reveals 1,000 unsolved murder cases in the UK, highlighting ongoing investigations where killers remain unidentified. The cases range from the pre-war era to the last decade, including random attacks and gang-related violence. The oldest case dates back to 1938, involving a farmer who was shot and later died from complications. Many famous unsolved murders, like the assassination of TV presenter Jill Dando in 1999, are included, alongside lesser-known cases. The map was created using data from Freedom of Information requests to police forces across the country. Most forces provided lists of cold cases, while some required additional research to compile the information.
