New Jersey Gov. Sherrill backs 13 veteran Democrats in first national endorsements

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill endorsed 13 Democratic candidates with military backgrounds Thursday, her first major national move as she signals ambition to influence the party’s 2028 presidential race. Her Mission to Deliver PAC backs House and Senate contenders in competitive races, including Seth Moulton’s challenge to Senator Edward Markey. Sherrill, a former Navy pilot, stressed their service and contrasted them with President Trump. Sherrill raised nearly $1.2 million for the PAC and has said she wants to help choose the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028. More endorsements are expected.
