New high-speed rail line to connect Las Vegas and Southern California by 2028

A new £9 billion high-speed rail line, Brightline West, is under construction to connect Las Vegas and Southern California. The 218-mile route will allow trains to travel at speeds of 200 mph, reducing travel time to about two hours. Brightline West aims to serve over 9 million passengers annually, addressing heavy congestion on the busy Los Angeles to Las Vegas route. The line will primarily run along the I-15 highway and is expected to be operational by 2028. The trains will be all-electric and feature two seating options: 'smart' and 'premium.' Stations will be conveniently located in Las Vegas and Southern California, enhancing travel experience with services like hotel check-in and luggage transport.
